The Pennsauken community is invited to attend two popular public events: the Car and Bike Show, held on Sunday, Sept. 10, and the town’s Fall Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 14.

“This is a great time of year for public events in Pennsauken; our annual Car and Bike Show and our Fall Festival are right around the corner,” said Pennsauken Mayor Vince Martinez. “Both events are wonderful opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy a great time with our neighbors. We hope you come out and join us!”

Car And Bike Show On September 17

Pennsauken’s 31st annual Car and Bike Show will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hundreds of classic cars and bikes will be on display along part of the “Maple Mile,” starting at Pinsetter Bar and Bowl, the co-sponsor of the event located at 7111 Maple Ave., and extending towards Union Ave.

There will be 23 judging classes for cars, from Stock Production before 1953 to All New Cars, 2015 to Present, as well as nine judging classes for motorcycles, from Full Dresser to Antique Bikes. Over 100 awards will be presented to participants that afternoon.

As attendees stroll the show, viewing the many cars and bikes on display, they can also enjoy a variety of other activities. Food trucks will be on hand offering a variety of snacks and meals for purchase. The Kids Zone will also be returning to the Car and Bike Show, with inflatables and balloon twisting for younger attendees. DJs will be playing classics and popular music throughout the event.

Each year, every effort is made to reduce the impact on the neighborhoods along Maple Ave. and adjoining streets. Residents will have access to major throughways and can get in and out of the area during the event.

“Pennsauken’s Car and Bike Show is a great opportunity for car and bike enthusiasts, as well as our families, to come out and enjoy a great public event,” explains Juan Vazquez, Parks and Recreation coordinator. “We’re excited to welcome back our longtime participants and hope to see a lot of new faces as well.”

The form to register a vehicle for this year’s show can be downloaded from the Township’s website at PennsaukenEvents.com. Registration on the day of the show is held from 10:00 a.m. to noon; fees are $20 for cars, $15 for bikes.

Fall Festival On October 14

Pennsauken Township, in association with the Pennsauken Firefighters Association, will host its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14 (rain date Sunday, Oct. 15). This annual event, held from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave., brings the Township community together with a family-friendly atmosphere.

“Pennsauken families will enjoy amusement rides, food trucks, and much more,” explains Mayor Vince Martinez. “Our residents and neighbors will definitely not want to miss out on this great event.”

Pennsauken’s annual Fall Festival features a variety of entertainment. Children will be able to enjoy amusement rides, bounce houses, a petting zoo, balloon twisting, face painting, and more. Families can take a short hayride to a “pumpkin patch,” where kids can pick out a small pumpkin to decorate (one per child). Throughout the event, attendees will also be able to purchase snacks and meals from a variety of food trucks. In addition, the festival’s popular “Vendor Row” will once again be set up along the complex’s parking lot, with a variety of crafters, businesses, and community organizations sharing their goods and services with participants.

Held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Month, a time of year to focus on promoting the importance of fire safety in the community, the Pennsauken Fire Department will hold several demonstrations during the event. This year’s theme, “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention™,” works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe when cooking. Crafters, businesses, and community groups are invited to join the Fall Festival as vendors. For details, visit PennsaukenEvents.com or email jvazquez@pennsauken.gov.
