It was March 13 when Pennsauken Mayor Tim Killion announced the closure of Township facilities because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Seven weeks later, the local community still faces many challenges. From an ongoing “Stay at Home” mandate from state government, to businesses both big and small determining how to stay afloat, the coronavirus continues to impact all aspects of life.

Local Food Trucks Feeding The Front Line

Three local food trucks have banded together to provide some great tasting comfort to those on the front line of the battle to stop COVID-19.

Pennsauken’s own Mary’s Mobile Diner, run by resident Mary Hilbert; Red’s Rolling Restaurant, run by Hilbert’s daughter Megan; and Sabrina Brill of Not Your Mama’s Tacos, have been serving staff at Cooper University Health Care in Camden for well over a year. When the coronavirus began affecting our region in March, the three came up with a plan to “Feed the Front Line” as a way to give back those in harm’s way who are helping others.

TODAY: Freeholders Provide a Status Update on COVID-19 Response

Today at 11:00 a.m., Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr., Freeholder Jon Young and Congressman Donald Norcross will be providing an update regarding the latest developments to combat COVID-19. Over the course of the pandemic the county has provided more than 50,000 meals to the vulnerable, thousands of tests through two mobile testing sites in Camden and Gloucester Township and delivered hundreds of thousands of personal protective equipment to first responders and long-term care facilities.

Executive Order Allows Tenants To Direct Use Of Security Deposit To Offset Rent

On Friday, April 24, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 128, allowing tenants to direct their landlords to use their security deposits to offset rent or back rent. The order waives provisions of statutory law that prohibit the use of security deposits for rental payments.

MVC Agency, Inspection Stations Remain Closed Until May 11

Rhoads Metal Works Creates Clean Air For Hospitals

Rhoads Metal Works needed to find a way to adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of RMW’s loyal customers were forced to pull projects, defer maintenance or close completely. The business needed to respond quickly to the harsh reality of decreased revenues and the need to furlough many employees to assure survival. Rhoads would have to adapt to the changing needs of their customers.
