Celebrate Spring At Historic Burrough-Dover House

The Pennsauken Historical Society will host a special “First Sunday” open house on Sunday, May 3, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the historic Burrough-Dover House, highlighting spring traditions and homestead skills once practiced by families in early South Jersey. Visitors will learn about how local households historically prepared for the arrival of spring through gardening, seasonal food preparation, and other everyday homestead practices. Displays will explore the traditions that helped sustain families and communities throughout the region’s early history.

As part of the event, the Historical Society will give away heirloom seed packets to the first attendees, encouraging visitors to plant a small piece of history in their own gardens. The event is free and open to the public.

Burrough-Dover House is located at 9201 Burrough-Dover Ln., off Haddonfield Rd. near the Wyndam Rd. traffic light.

Admission and tours at Burrough-Dover House on Sunday, May 3, are free of charge. There is also plenty of free parking. Donations to support our historical work are always greatly appreciated and Pennsauken Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Memberships and volunteer opportunities are available for you!
