Cub Scouts Prepare For New Year Of Adventure
Pack 119 will hold its annual membership carnival for boys ages 5–11 on Sept. 25, 6:30 p.m., at the gymnasium of Martin Luther Christian School, 4106 Terrace Ave. Parking is on the Baker Ave. side of the building. The carnival will include old fashioned games of skill, like bean bag throw and ring toss, as well as popcorn, cotton candy and prizes, face painting and more.
The Pack will hold its first den meetings on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 p.m. New Cubs or those interested in joining should arrive at 6:30 p.m., so paperwork, etc. can be filled out before the meeting starts.
The next day, Saturday, Oct. 3, is a BB and Archery Shoot at Pine Hill Scout Reservation and is open only to Cub Scouts who have registered for the event. Another shooting event will be held in the spring. Cost is $5 each per session. You do not have to do both.
Two weeks later is Cub Fun Day on Sat. Oct. 17 at Pine Hill Scout Reservation, located at 120 New Freedom Rd, Pine Hill, N.J. This event is open to both Cub Scouts and their friends thinking of joining and their families. Activities in the past have been Archery and BB, Fishing, crafts. There is a nominal fee, which has not yet been announced.
In addition to regular Cub Scout membership, the Pack is part of the BSA Garden State Council pilot program, which includes a Lion Cub program for boys in kindergarten.
