UPDATED 10:17 p.m., Nov. 16
The Pennsauken Historical Society will open the Griffith Morgan on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for our annual “Frost on the Pumpkin” event, where we celebrate the change of seasons from the bounty of the harvest to the long winter ahead. Our volunteers will be dressed in their historical outfits to make you feel as if you are living in the year 1710!
We will fire up the authentic hearth fireplace to demonstrate historic ways of cooking. Fun for the kids will include demonstrations of historic games as they would have been enjoyed in the 18th century! Meanwhile, the everyday domestic tasks of an 18th century farm household will occupy the family as they prepare for the long, cold season ahead.
You can find the Griffith Morgan House at 243 Griffith Morgan Lane in Pennsauken, located just off of River Rd., across from Aluminum Shapes. Plenty of free parking is available for your touring convenience.
The safety and security of our guests is our highest priority. Conditions as mandated by the state at the time will be upheld. If not required at the time, masks will be recommended. Visitors will be encouraged to keep a distance of at least three feet from all other parties and volunteers.
