The ninth annual Merchantville Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Merchantville Downtown Parking Area.
The festival opens with Mt. Laurel’s Camille K, a 16 year old songwriter and musician who appeared on AGT (America’s Got Talent) this July. The dance party band 99 Reasons is next, followed by local favorite “Lounge Act” led by Charlie Koury, owner of Merchantville’s Charlie’s Crepes. Candy Volcano brings their Glam Rock Show to the fest this year. Closing out the night is Arsenal’s Arena Rock Show. Michael Jackson impersonator Buddy Katz makes a special appearance.
In addition to five bands, there will be a car show lining the adjacent streets. To satisfy your taste buds, food vendors Latin Bites, Favoretto Foods, Reds Rolling Restaurant will be on site along with Eclipse Brewery.
The festival falls under the umbrella of the Merchantville Task Force. It’s a big undertaking with many moving pieces. The small volunteer team of three Merchantville residents, Charlene Thellmann, Matt Sutin and Jon Hoffmann, start planning the next festival a few weeks after the current festival ends. The festival is self supporting and the team raises all of the funds to cover the costs.
Music Fest is very grateful for all the the sponsors and those who personally donated. For without them the annual festival would not be possible. They would especially like to thank Gold Sponsor Gasper Roofing, and Silver Sponsors Eclipse Brewing and Merchantville Overhead Door Company.
Merchantville Music Fest takes place in the triangular parking area bordered by E. Park Ave, E. Chestnut Ave. and Eclipse Brewery. Music starts at 3:00 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.
