NJ TRANSIT Issues Service Alert For River LINE

Citing operational challenges, NJ TRANSIT has announced significant changes to the River LINE service schedule. The River LINE stops at the Pennsauken Transit Center on Derousse Ave.

“Due to continued operational challenges, River LINE weekday service will temporarily operate every 30 minutes throughout the service day,” the agency posted in an online statement. “The impact of this temporary adjustment is limited to weekday peak hour frequency, as the River LINE’s regular weekday schedule operates every 30 minutes outside of peak periods. Saturday service will also operate on the Sunday/Holiday schedule.”

NJ TRANSIT explained that the River LINE is operated and maintained by an independent contractor; issues with operator availability and supply chain issues related to vehicle parts has resulted in the need for the current service changes.

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this temporary service adjustment and, again, appreciate your patience while we work as quickly as we can with the contractor to return to the regular weekday schedule as soon as possible. NJ TRANSIT will take all actions necessary to ensure the River LINE operates consistently and reliably for our customers, and will continue to provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.”
