Obituary: Joseph Leo Manghan IV

Joseph Leo Manghan IV of Pennsauken, age 23, peacefully passed away on October 7, 2018 after a valiant four-year fight against Ewings Sarcoma, a rare pediatric cancer. He was surrounded by the people he loved and loved him, exactly as he planned.

Joseph was a graduate of Pennsauken High School, Class of 2014. He loved drawing, 3D modeling, graphic arts, and online gaming with friends he considered bonus brothers. Known as the “Gentle Giant,” his compassion, generosity, tender heart, and genuine appreciation of kindness drew people from all walks of life to him.

Joe’s refusal to allow cancer to dictate his life inspired many as he openly shared his unflinching fight to remain on this earth. His blunt honesty, droll humor, determination, and ability to make the best of every situation earned the respect and love of all who knew him. He will be immensely missed.

He is survived by his mother, Susann Arber; brother, Zachary Manghan; step-father, Christopher Matusieski; step-sister, Amberly; step-brother Christopher; maternal grandparents, David and Ann Arber; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gloria Manghan; Aunts and Uncles, Allison and Brandon, Anthony and Megan, David and Karen, Stephanie, and Seth; cousins, Jamie, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Kayla, Jill, Anthony, Dylan, Jeffrey, Savannah, Michael, and Justin; and his beloved Maggie von Mooster the Pug. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Manghan III and Uncle Jeffrey Manghan.
