For over three decades, classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and more have lined Pennsauken streets for its extremely popular Car and Bike Show. That tradition continues Sunday, Sept. 13, when the town hosts its 34th annual show from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hundreds of classic cars and bikes will be on display along part of the “Maple Mile,” starting at Pinsetter Bar and Bowl, the co-sponsor of the event located at 7111 Maple Ave., and extending towards Union Ave.
“We couldn’t be more Pennsauken Proud of our annual Car and Bike Show, which draws hundreds of participants and thousands of attendees each and every year,” said Pennsauken Mayor Patrick Olivo. “Our Parks and Recreation Department does an amazing job with this show.”
There will be 23 judging classes for cars, from Stock Production before 1953 to All New Cars, 2020 to Present, as well as nine judging classes for motorcycles, from Full Dresser to Antique Bikes. Over 100 awards will be presented to participants that afternoon.
Returning to the Pinsetter parking lot, the popular Kid Zone will feature bounce houses, a trackless train and balloon twisters. Wristbands are just $2 per child for unlimited access to the attractions. Throughout the event, a DJ will provide music from the main stage, while one of the show’s signature traditions, the Jersey String Band, will march down Maple Ave. to entertain the crowd.
“Pennsauken Township Committee invites all of our local car and bike enthusiasts to take part in this amazing event,” said Mayor Olivo. “We can’t wait to see you there!”
The form to register a vehicle for this year’s show can be downloaded online from PennsaukenEvents.com. Preregistration fees are $15 for cars and $12 for bikes; forms with the entry fee must be received at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Building, 2400 Merchantville Ave., attention Juan Vazquez, by Tuesday, Sept. 1. Registration on the day of the show is held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.; at that time, fees are $20 for cars, $15 for bikes.
It is important that participants of this year’s Car and Bike Show know that the only way to register a car or bike for this event is through Pennsauken Township’s Parks and Recreation Department. No individual or group will solicit registration fees online. In addition, this event is free for the public to attend; there are no tickets needed for admission.
