Pennsauken To Host Drive Thru Easter Event On March 27

By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor

In lieu of the Township’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, Pennsauken’s Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a drive thru event for families on Saturday, March 27.

“We’re excited to announce that the Easter Bunny will be back in Pennsauken to visit on March 27,” said Pennsauken Mayor Marco DiBattista. “Families will be able to drive up and see everyone’s favorite rabbit, along with some other furry friends.”

On March 27, parents and guardians can drive their children, ages 9 and under, to one of three locations in town:

  • Walt Nicgorksi Sports Complex, Powell and Collins avenues, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
  • Township Municipal Complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., 11:00 a.m. – noon
  • “The Pit” Football Complex, 4339 Burwood Ave., 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

In addition, Pennsauken’s Public Works Department and first responders will have decorated vehicles on display at each site. Children will also receive a “Bunny Bag” filled with candy and other goodies. This is a drive thru event; no walk-ups are allowed, and participants are asked to stay in their vehicles during their visit. The rain date for the event is Saturday, April 3.

“While we do plan to host our annual Easter Egg Hunt next year, we wanted to do something for Pennsauken’s kids similar to what we did with Santa and our town’s tree lighting,” said Tim Killion, the member of Township Committee in charge of helping put together community events. “As the weather gets warmer, Township Committee is working with our Parks and Recreation Department to come up with community events that allow us to celebrate together safely.”
