By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor
Pennsauken’s 31st annual Car and Bike Show will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hundreds of classic cars and bikes will be on display along part of the “Maple Mile,” starting at Pinsetter Bar and Bowl, the co-sponsor of the event located at 7111 Maple Ave., and extending towards Union Ave.
There will be 23 judging classes for cars, from Stock Production before 1953 to All New Cars, 2015 to Present, as well as nine judging classes for motorcycles, from Full Dresser to Antique Bikes. Over 100 awards will be presented to participants that afternoon.
As attendees stroll the show, viewing the many cars and bikes on display, they can also enjoy a variety of other activities. Food trucks will be on hand offering a variety of snacks and meals for purchase. The Kids Zone will also be returning to the Car and Bike Show, with inflatables and balloon twisting for younger attendees. DJs will be playing classics and popular music throughout the event.
Each year, every effort is made to reduce the impact on the neighborhoods along Maple Ave. and adjoining streets. Residents will have access to major throughways and can get in and out of the area during the event.
“Pennsauken’s Car and Bike Show is a great opportunity for car and bike enthusiasts, as well as our families, to come out and enjoy a great public event,” explains Juan Vazquez, Parks and Recreation coordinator. “We’re excited to welcome back our longtime participants and hope to see a lot of new faces as well.”
The form to register a vehicle for this year’s show can be downloaded from the Township’s website at PennsaukenEvents.com. Pre-registration fees are $12 for cars and $8 for bikes; forms with the entry fee must be received at the Pennsauken Township Building, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., Pennsauken, NJ 08110, attention Juan Vazquez, by Wednesday, Sept. 6. Registration on the day of the show is held from 10:00 a.m. to noon; at that time, fees are $20 for cars, $15 for bikes.
