Pennsauken Township is preparing to hold its third annual Autism Awareness Expo, a special event designed to support and empower families with special needs. Held on Friday, April 24, this event will take place at Eden Gardens, 1444 Rt. 73, Pennsauken, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Open to the public, this event aims to shine a light on the challenges faced by individuals with special needs, like autism spectrum disorder, and their families. It also serves as a platform to showcase the various resources available to support these families in their journey.
“Whether you have a family member newly diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or have been helping a loved one with special needs for several years, it can be difficult to know what resources are available to help,” said Township Committeewoman Jessica Rafeh, whose daughter, Karina, has autism. “We hope that our annual Autism Awareness Expo will assist families and point them in the right direction.”

“Someone very close to me has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and I understand firsthand how important it is for families to feel supported, understood, and connected to helpful resources,” said Pennsauken Mayor Patrick Olivo. “I invite our families to join us for this important event as we raise awareness, share guidance, and work together to build a more inclusive Pennsauken for everyone.”
