A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged for crashing a U-Haul van into several police vehicles while attempting to flee from a bank robbery in Pennsauken yesterday, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Pennsauken Police Chief Phil Olivo.

On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at approximately 4:39 p.m., the Pennsauken Police Department received a 911 call for a bank robbery at the TD Bank located on the 4900 block of Route 130.  The suspect – later identified as 34-year-old Kevin Allure – was reported to have passed a demand note and threatened bank employees. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

A short time later, officers located Allure driving a U-Haul van and attempted to stop the vehicle.  Allure proceeded to use the U-Haul van to crash into three police vehicles before his van became inoperable on Haines Road near John Tipton Boulevard.  Allure fled the van on foot and was apprehended by police.  Two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the crash.

Detectives from the Pennsauken Police Department, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Response Investigations Team responded to investigate the bank robbery and crash collaboratively.

As a result of the investigation, Allure was charged with one count each of first-degree Robbery, second-degree Eluding, and fourth-degree Resisting Arrest.  Allure was also charged with three counts of third-degree Criminal Mischief and two counts of third-degree Assault by Auto.  He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
