The Camden County Board of Freeholders and military partners are hosting a 7-day photographic war memorial exhibit to thank and honor all of our veterans from The War on Terror and their families for their service and sacrifice. The exhibit will be open 24/7 to view from Wednesday, Sept. 9, through Tuesday, Sept. 15, on Veterans Island at Cooper River Park, located behind LaScala’s Birra, 5300 North Park Drive, in Pennsauken. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be enforced.
Remembering Our Fallen is a photographic war memorial that honors military service members who lost their lives during the War on Terror. The memorial consists of a series of installations which feature both military and personal photos of fallen service members.
“We must never allow ourselves to forget the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their commitment to community and country should be an inspiration to all Americans, reminding us of the shared values and ideals upon which we were founded and continue to defend,” said Freeholder Melinda Kane, a gold star mother and liaison to the Office of Veterans Affairs. “The Freeholder Board is committed to honoring veterans and their families. It is our hope that by bringing this memorial to Veterans Island, all residents will have a place to reflect on those we have lost, and the sacrifices made by families both in Camden County and across the United States.”
The installation opens today at 3:00 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.camdencounty.com/rememberfallen.
