9/11 Heroes Run Held At Cooper River Park

The run unites communities internationally with the goal to never forget the sacrifices of the heroes of September 11, 2001 and the wars since: veteran first responder, civilian and military.

Pennsauken Historical Society Holds Spring Festival May 21

HistoricalSocietyEventOn Saturday, May 21 the Pennsauken Historical Society will host its annual Spring Festival from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the historic Burrough-Dover House, located at 9201 Burrough Dover Ln. in Pennsauken.

The event features free tours of the Burrough-Dover House and the Joseph E. Fitzpatrick Nostalgia Museum; corn husk doll making; tin punch demonstrations; and live music by the band “Warm Hearted Country.” In addition to a bake sale, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.

The free event, held on Oct. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave., will highlight Pennsauken’s diverse cultural identity with a celebration of arts and community.

Historical Society Holds Apple Festival, General Meeting

Enjoy apple pie and ice cream, as well as coffee and water under the shade of the old oak trees. Get acquainted the docents for a guided tour of the interior of the home and the nostalgia museum. Walk down the south branch of the Pennsauken Creek on the nature trail.

There is no fee for parking or admission to the house or grounds. Bring family and friends. Experience how our past citizens made their lives in Pennsauken a memorable time.

Pennsauken’s Falco Caruso and Leonard Funeral Home recently hosted the “Shred the Love for Pets in Need” event.

Pennsauken’s Falco Caruso and Leonard Funeral Home recently hosted the “Shred the Love for Pets in Need” event.

On May 17, Falco Caruso and Leonard Funeral Home in Pennsauken hosted “Shred the Love for Pets in Need.” This event was to help neighbors do some spring cleaning by destroying their old documents in a safe matter, courtesy of Polar Shredding. Everyone who attended was asked to bring a new pet item to be donated to Puppies and More Rescue of Marlton, NJ. In addition, many dogs were adopted to their forever homes.

Special thanks to Brian Creitz, owner of Pennsauken’s Penn Florist, who donated his time and gave generously of food, water, and pet monuments; Sue Coffey and her family provided homemade dog scarves; Network DJs and CC Entertainment provided great music at the event; and Brother Carl from St. Anthony Padua Church, who said a blessing of all the animals.
