Food, Fun, And Fireworks At Pennsauken’s Summer Kick Off

Music, food, and fireworks will be once again enjoyed by residents at Pennsauken Township’s Summer Kick Off celebration. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 8, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located at Westfield and Bethel avenues.

Local Food Trucks Feeding The Front Line

Three local food trucks have banded together to provide some great tasting comfort to those on the front line of the battle to stop COVID-19.

Pennsauken’s own Mary’s Mobile Diner, run by resident Mary Hilbert; Red’s Rolling Restaurant, run by Hilbert’s daughter Megan; and Sabrina Brill of Not Your Mama’s Tacos, have been serving staff at Cooper University Health Care in Camden for well over a year. When the coronavirus began affecting our region in March, the three came up with a plan to “Feed the Front Line” as a way to give back those in harm’s way who are helping others.

Food Truck And Touch-A-Truck Event Held On June 26

Pennsauken Township and the town’s Department of Public Works are sponsoring a combination food truck and touch-a-truck event on Wednesday, June 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Food Truck Cooks Up Sweet And Savory Waffles

WAFFLES! The word brings with it delicious thoughts of pillowy, slightly crunchy, cake-like bliss. If you had the chance to go to the Pennsauken Harvest Festival, then you may have seen this month’s latest hot topic, Dan’s Waffles, a food truck serving up some of the finest made-to-order bubble and Belgian sugar waffles.

Food Truck Friday Fundraiser Held On September 22

On Friday, Sept. 22 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the Food Bank of South Jersey will host five local eateries for their Food Truck Friday event in their headquarters’ parking lot on John Tipton Blvd. in Pennsauken. Residents, local workforce, and community members are invited to stop by for a fun-filled lunch with proceeds benefiting the organization’s hunger relief programs serving nearly 200,000 individuals struggling with food insecurity in South Jersey.

Food Truck And Touch-A-Truck Event Rescheduled For June 22

Downpours and evening thunderstorms last month resulted in the combination food truck and touch-a-truck event being rescheduled to Thursday, June 22 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Co-sponsored by Pennsauken Township and Pennsauken’s Department of Public Works, the event will be held at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd. Several food trucks are slated to attend the June 22 event; and picnic tables will be available for seating. In addition, children of all ages will have a hands-on opportunity to explore various vehicles, including dump trucks, fire engines, and more. Little ones can also enjoy the playground adjacent to the Pennsauken Free Public Library.

Food Truck And Touch-A-Truck Event Cancelled

As several food trucks have backed out because of the weather forecast and there is a threat of thunderstorms late afternoon/early evening, the Food Truck/Touch-A-Truck event scheduled for May 25 has been cancelled.

 

Second Food Truck Event Held September 15

Pennsauken Township is following up August’s successful Bite Night with another food truck event on the third Thursday of September.
