Remembering Stephanie D’Angelico

The staff and board of the Pennsauken Free Public Library are heartbroken to share the news that Stephanie D’Angelico, our beloved colleague of 25 years, has died after a years-long battle with cancer. She bore it all with grace, good humor, and determination.

Rev. Roy E. Bundy

Rev. Roy E. Bundy of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021 at the age of 69.

Rev. Bundy was the beloved husband of Cynthia Samuels-Bundy; dear brother of Ivanette Peterson (the late Robert, Sr.),  the late Marian Wright (the late Harry), and the late Patricia Wright (Robert, Sr.); brother-in-law to Marcia Samuels and Cathy Samuels. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family members, and a host of brothers and sisters in Christ and others whose lives he has touched.

Longtime Pennsauken resident Larry Painter passed away on May 29, 2021. He was 86 years old.

Larry was the beloved husband of Trudy (nee McCann); devoted father of Lisa McGilloway (Michael) and Stephen Painter (Bonnie); loving grandfather of Michael, Matthew, McCann, Daniel and Samara; dear brother of Eleanor Wilbur, Sharon Smith (Larry) and the late Ruth Smith, Florence Capri, Nancy Horner, Harvey Painter and Jane Scarano; and brother in law of Linda Lewis (Ken). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Doris C. Carpenter, PhD, DAPA, nee Cowerd, a 30-year Pennsauken resident, was born on January 28, 1954 and was called home by her heavenly Father on January 2, 2021.

Obituary: Wendy M. Teti

Wendy M. Teti (nee Farran), age 71 of Pennsauken, passed away at Cooper Medical Center in Camden on Dec. 25.

Wendy was the beloved wife of Joseph A.; devoted mother of Stephanie (Jim) Emerson and Melissa Partridge; loving grandmother of Ashley, Taylor, Mark and Zachary; and dear sister in law of Dominick (Jeannette) Teti. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Teti was a dedicated nurse for over 20 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, Dec. 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 31, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd., Pennsauken. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 W. Maple Ave. in Merchantville. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Cherry Hill. Due to current Covid restrictions, the funeral home kindly asks that visitors pay their respects in a timely manner to allow others to enter the building. Face Masks MUST be worn in all buildings at all times.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.

Obituary: Matthew C. Greenwood

Matthew Greenwood

Matthew C. Greenwood, age 29, of Merchantville, passed away on Aug. 7. He was born in Elkins Park, Pa. Matthew was a graduate of Pennsuaken High School Class of 2009. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and spent his 18th birthday at boot camp. While in the Army, he did training in Germany and also served in Afghanistan as well as found his passion for cooking. After being discharged, he continued to work as a chef at Cates Italian Garden in Lake George, NY and recently Pizzeria Stella in Philadelphia, Pa. Matthew also enjoyed gardening and had quite the green thumb. He will be deeply missed.

Daniel P, Berkey passed away suddenly at his home in Pennsauken on June 20, 2020. A familiar face behind the deli counter at Meadowbrook Food Center, Dan was 38 years old.

Michael D. Vergilio, Sr., age 87 years of Pennsauken, passed away on October 18, 2019.

John M. Korinthios, age 80 of Pennsauken, passed away on May 24.

John was the beloved husband of Toula (nee Horiates); devoted father of Michael (Christina) Korinthios and Angeliki (Denny) Kokolis, both of Cherry Hill; loving grandfather of John, Antonio, John, Chris and Cyrena; dear brother of Alexandros “Alekos”, Fragkiskos “Franz,” and Yiakoumina “Mina,” all of Greece. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws, and brother in laws.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m., at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 675 Cooperlanding Rd. Cherry Hill, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment is at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, P.O. Box 781352 Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352 or St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.

MPWC Commissioner Burt German Passes Away
