PEA Pride To Hold MLK Day Of Service

On Monday, Jan. 17, PEA Pride is hosting its fourth annual MLK Day of Service event for the Pennsauken community.

The National MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.”

“Family Fun Day” Celebrates Pennsauken High’s 60th Anniversary

The Pennsauken High School Alumni Association and the Pennsauken Township Board of Education are inviting the local community for a “Family Fun Day” on Saturday, Sept. 21, celebrating Pennsauken High School’s 60th anniversary. Held on the grounds of the high school, 800 Hylton Rd., the event features food, family fun, campus tours, and more. Fall sports will be played on the athletic fields; there will also be a dedication of the new turf football field with an Alumni Parade under the lights.

Pennsauken Schools Holding Graduation Survey

Earlier today, the Pennsauken School District launched a survey to poll Township households to determine the location of graduation for the Class of 2019.

Superintendent’s Town Hall Held Tonight

The Superintendent’s Town Hall will be held tonight, Thursday, April 4, 7:00 p.m. at Pennsauken High School, 800 Hylton Rd., Room #327.

Dr. Ronnie Tarchichi will discuss a variety of topics designed to mold the future of Pennsauken Public Schools. Members of the community and our school families are invited to attend.

District To Hold Town Meetings At Pennsauken High School

The Pennsauken School District has two “town hall” style meetings planned to highlight programs available at Pennsauken Public Schools.

Double Dozen Performs “Tribute To Rock” Tonight

This evening, Pennsauken High School’s Double Dozen presents their annual tribute concert highlighting the best of rock and roll.

The performance is held at Pennsauken High School, 800 Hylton Rd., and begins at 7:00 p.m.

General admission is just $5.

Pennsauken Police Investigate Online School Threat

Last night, an online school threat made on Instagram and shared on social media prompted an investigation by the Pennsauken Police Department.

According to a statement on the Pennsauken School District’s website and Facebook page, school officials were made aware of an online post that stated a “student from PHS was going to shoot up the school.” Pennsauken Detectives were called in to investigate and determined that not only was the post several weeks old, the “PHS” did not refer to Pennsauken, but rather Paulsboro, whose authorities were contacted.

The District statement went on to say that there would an added police presence at schools today as a precaution. It also thanked the parents and students that reached out to the school system about the online threat.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out to us about this post, and to the Pennsauken Police for continuing to ensure our schools are safe and secure for all staff and students.”

Community Invited To Lunar New Year Celebration On February 6

Pennsauken High School’s Asian Students Association is sponsoring its second annual Lunar New Year Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the main cafeteria of the high school, 800 Hylton Rd.

The local community is invited to an evening of free food, entertainment, and prizes.

Teachers’ Choice Awards Held On January 22

Teachers throughout the Pennsauken School District have selected students to be honored at the “Teachers’ Choice Awards,” a special event held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 6:30 p.m., at Pennsauken High School, 800 Hylton Rd. These students show one or more of the following “Medal of Honor” core values: commitment, courage, integrity, patriotism, citizenship, or sacrifice.

The Pennsauken School District is inviting the local community to this event to help celebrate these students’ accomplishments.
