Residents At Pennsauken Senior Residence Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

More than 40 seniors at Lutheran Senior Residence at Pennsauken, an affordable senior housing property, received their first COVID-19 vaccination last week. The Pennsauken site is one of seven affordable senior housing properties owned by Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ) to offer the vaccine to its residents by partnering with Walgreens and CVS.

Over the last few decades, our world has become more interconnected. People, food, and plants travel around the globe on a daily basis. Despite customs agents inspecting cargo, non native plants and insects hitchhike on shipments, landing on foreign shores to wreak havoc. The latest of these is the Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive plant hopper native to China, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. This year, the Spotted Lanternfly has fully established itself in densely populated South Jersey counties like Camden, Gloucester and Burlington.

Miguelina’s Bakery Opens In Pennsauken

Miguelina’s Bakery, located at 4928 Westfield Ave., opened its doors to the public last month. Originally further down the road in Camden, owner Miguelina Charistidis made the decision to move to Pennsauken.
