Pennsauken residents Davon Clark and Rick Taylor were among 13 Camden County residents honored for their work in the community during the 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom Medal Awards. Held last month at the Camden County Boathouse in Pennsauken, the annual event – which has taken place since 2001 – recognized those who have selflessly contributed their time and effort to better their community in conjunction with the goals of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Tax Help Available At Pennsauken Library In February

Tax Help at Pennsauken Library

The Pennsauken Free Public Library is once again hosting AARP Tax Help sessions. This free service begins on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Library’s Community Room and will be offered Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., through April 12.

Pennsauken Police Release Statement On January 12 Shooting

On January 12, 2018 at approximately 5:44 p.m., there was a shooting on the 2500 block and 2400 block of 45th St. No individuals were struck by the gunfire.

A white sport utility vehicle, a black sport utility vehicle, and a subject on foot were involved in the shooting. The incident is currently under investigation by the Pennsauken Police Department.

Airborne Systems Awarded $26 Million Marine Corps Contract

Earlier this month, Airborne Systems of Pennsauken announced that it was officially awarded the contract for an Enhanced Multi-Mission Parachute System (E-MMPS) for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The contract, which was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities website, is worth over $26 million.

Public Meeting On Bond Referendum Held This Evening

This evening, Monday, Jan. 15, 6:30 p.m., the Pennsauken School District will host a meeting at Longfellow Elementary School, 1400 Forrest Ave., Pennsauken, to discuss the proposed bond referendum and Longfellow Park.

Any Pennsauken resident who has questions about the Longfellow part of the referendum, wants to share their feelings on the subject, or has questions they want answered, is encouraged to attend.

The proposed initiative, which will allocate almost $36 million for various capital improvement projects, will be voted on by the Pennsauken community on March 13. The Pennsauken School District is hosting a variety of different public meetings to help residents learn more about the referendum and make an informed decision.

Pennsauken Police’s Nettleton Sworn In As Captain

At December’s public meeting of the Township Committee, John Nettleton was officially sworn in as a captain of the Pennsauken Police Department.

PMAC Welcomes Bayada Home Health Care At January Luncheon

Tom Sibson and Tom Cassidy from Bayada Home Health Care are the guest speakers at the Pennsauken-Merchantville Area Chamber of Commerce (P.M.A.C.) networking luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Marco’s at the Pennsauken Country Club, 3800 Haddonfield Rd.

Sibson, the company’s chief financial officer, and Cassidy, the director of procurement and facilities, will be speaking about their move to Pennsauken Township.

Sign-in begins at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, with the meeting starting at noon. Admission is $25 for members, $35 for non-members.
