Pennsauken Police Seek Public’s Help With Fatal Collision

On Tuesday, Oct. 31 at approximately 7:00 p.m., a fatal motor vehicle collision occurred on Rt. 38 Westbound prior to Strand Ave. The collision involved four vehicles and two pedestrians. As a result of the collision, one of the pedestrians sustained fatal injuries; the other is in critical condition.

If anyone witnessed the collision or has any information regarding this crash, please call the Pennsauken Police Department Traffic Division at (856) 488-0080, ext. 2300.

Detectives Seeking Assistance In Identifying Vehicle

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and Pennsauken Township Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle.

The vehicle shown below was possibly used during a home invasion that occurred at approximately 2:24 p.m. on October 3, 2017 on the 7500 block of Baxter Avenue in Pennsauken Township.

The suspects who entered the home are described as Hispanic males, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black pants. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white or Hispanic male with a heavy build and a beard.

Members of the public should not approach the vehicle or attempt to apprehend these suspects, but should call 9-1-1 immediately.

“Back The Blue” Jeep Ride Held On October 14

A community event planned for tomorrow is designed to be a show of support to local law enforcement.

The second annual “Back the Blue” Jeep Ride will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14; last year, over 100 jeep owners gathered at the Cherry Hill Mall and then traveled to the police stations in several communities to thank officers for their dedicated service.

Information Sought in Pennsauken Homicide

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and local authorities from Pennsauken Township Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle that may be connected to a homicide Friday evening.

The vehicle is described as a burgundy or red 2000 Buick Century with stock rims, and is shown in the surveillance photo below.

The vehicle depicted below was possibly used during a homicide that occurred September 8, 2017 at approximately 5:25 p.m. on the 7000 block of Stockton Avenue in Pennsauken Township.

The suspects are described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’ 9” tall, stocky build, the second is a thin black male approximately 20-30 years old.

Members of the public should not approach the vehicle or attempt to apprehend these suspects, but should call 9-1-1 immediately.

Camden County Prosecutors, Pennsauken Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Pennsauken Township Police Chief John Coffey reported a homicide on Friday, September 8, 2017.

Pennsauken Police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man who had been shot in the area of the 7000 block of Stockton Avenue in Pennsauken at approximately 5:25 p.m.

When officers arrived, they located the victim, Jerry Mass, 26, of Camden, deceased on the floor of an apartment from an apparent gunshot wound.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.

Team Pennsauken Rides In Police Unity Tour

A group of local police officers are joining together to honor the memories of those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Last year, Lt. John Nettleton and Sgt. Phil Olivo of the Pennsauken Police Department rode their bicycles in Chapter II of the Police Unity Tour in remembrance of fallen Pennsauken Township police officers. Members of both the Pennsauken and Merchantville Police Departments will be participating in this year’s tour, held on May 10.

Team Pennsauken is made up of members of the Pennsauken and Merchantville Police Departments who will be riding bicycles with the Police Unity Tour Chapter II. The three-day Police Unity Tour will begin in South Jersey on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The Tour will visit some of the towns where officers have fallen in the line of duty before departing New Jersey en route to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. The officers will bicycle close to 300 miles during the tour.
