Pennsauken School District Seeks Community Feedback For Superintendent Search
By the Pennsauken Township Board of Education
The Pennsauken Board of Education is gearing up for a search for a new superintendent to lead the Pennsauken School District. The timeline includes target dates for posting the job, deadline for receipt of applications, and review of submitted applications and interviews. An important part of the process, which is included in our timeline, is the opportunity for community input.
Though the hiring of a superintendent is the sole responsibility of the Board of Education, our members believe that the Pennsauken community has a huge stake in the outcome of this process. Whether or not you have children attending the schools, every resident of Pennsauken Township has ownership of this school district, since a significant portion of our budget is funded by tax dollars and a strong school district benefits everyone. Therefore, we welcome input from community members, as well as staff and students.
Steer Announced As Acting Superintendent
Today, Pennsauken Public Schools announced Ms. Caroline Steer as acting superintendent. She replaces Dr. Ronnie Tarchichi, whose letter of resignation was accepted at the Board of Education meeting on June 10, 2024.
“Pennsauken Public Schools welcomes Ms. Caroline Steer as Acting Superintendent, and thanks Dr. Ronnie Tarchichi for his service over the past 8 years,” the District said in an online statement, which included a letter of transition from Dr. Tarchichi.
“As I leave and hand over the reins to Ms. Caroline Steer, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire Pennsauken School District community. Serving as your Superintendent has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career,” wrote Tarchichi in a letter in the July edition of All Around Pennsauken. “As I step down, I have full confidence that Ms. Steer will lead the district with vision and dedication. I am excited to see the future accomplishments and growth under her leadership.”

Next “Coffee And Questions With The Superintendent” Held On November 17
By Ronnie Tarchichi, Superintendent of Schools, Pennsauken School District
We had a great “Coffee and Questions with the Superintendent” meeting with members of the community at the Pennsauken Country Club on Nov. 4. Beginning Thursday, Nov. 17, “Coffee and Questions with the Superintendent” will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria, 800 Hylton Rd. In order to make these opportunities more convenient for residents, they will now be held each month two hours prior to the Board of Education’s business meeting.
These are times where concerned parents or Pennsauken residents can come and ask questions regarding any topic within the school district in a casual, informal setting.
I look forward to seeing you, hearing your concerns and growing both personally and professionally from you.
