Pennsauken Township and its Parks and Recreation Department are holding a fireworks display with music on Saturday, June 12, at the town’s Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave.
“In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be celebrating the start of summer, as well as the significant holidays of Juneteenth, and Independence Day,” said Tim Killion, former Pennsauken Township committeeman and current municipal administrator. “To recognize all of these important dates, as well as to try to bring some normalcy back to our community, we’ve put together something we can all enjoy.”
On June 12, cars will be allowed into the complex at 7:00 p.m. The Township anticipates that parking spots will be filled quickly. Once at capacity, residents will have to park in and around the area and walk-up to the facility. Attendees can sit in or outside of their vehicles; in truck cabs and on tailgates; or along the grass and in the parking lot. The fireworks display will occur approximately around 9:00 p.m. A DJ will be playing music throughout the event and there will be several dessert food trucks on hand.
While Governor Murphy has removed COVID-19 restrictions, mask wearing and social distancing are an encouraged option for participants who may feel uncomfortable without them.
