Wawa Opens Newest Pennsauken Store On Veterans Day

Wawa, Inc. announces the opening of its new store in Pennsauken, NJ, located at 8000 S. Crescent Blvd. To celebrate the grand opening, Wawa is hosting an outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, featuring local officials, first responders and charity partners. The store will open to the public at 8:00 a.m. with limited-edition Wawa Pennsauken t-shirts for the first 100 customers, as supplies last. To honor retired service members on Veterans Day, Wawa is offering free any size hot coffee at this new location and across its entire chain Thursday, Nov. 11.

Wawa has continued its commitment to growth in New Jersey opening 10 new stores in 2021, bringing the statewide store count to 270 to date.

“At Wawa, our core purpose is to go beyond filling orders to fulfill lives, every day, and that has never been stronger than it is now as we embark on a new year full of new growth, new jobs, and an enhancement of the way we deliver the Wawa experience through what we call, Boundless Convenience,” said Chris Gheysens, Wawa President & CEO. ““As we open new stores throughout the year, we do so with a commitment to safety and growth. We look forward to meeting all our new friends and neighbors in the Pennsauken community!”

With doors opening on Veterans Day, Wawa will kick off its outdoor celebration with a ceremonial coffee toast to honor those individuals who have served and extend its chainwide free coffee offer to veterans at its new location. In addition, Wawa will demonstrate its support of everyday heroes at Stand Down of South Jersey with a $1,000 check towards their veteran’s support programs.

As part of the celebration, Wawa will host its signature Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition between Pennsauken Township Police Department and Pennsauken Fire Department, to see who can build the most hoagies in three-minutes in the traditional Wawa Way. Wawa will conclude the Hoagies for Heroes competitions by presenting checks for $1,000 to each department’s charity of choice.

Wawa is proud to support New Jersey’s student-athletes and local high school communities through a multi-year sponsorship with New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), a voluntary, non-profit organization comprised of 435 accredited public and non-public high schools, which conducts tournaments and crowns champions in 33 sports. In addition, Wawa serves as Official Hoagie, Coffee and Convenience Store Sponsor.

As part of its 2021 growth, Wawa is enhancing its commitment to provide customers and communities with the highest level of convenience by extending beyond the store’s four walls and meeting customers where they live, on their terms – with more options and more access. This new Pennsauken store will not only have all of Wawa’s customer favorites, but also new innovations in convenience including mobile ordering, curbside pickup, and delivery options. In addition, this store will feature the latest in Wawa’s fresh, quality and convenient food options, including the new dinner menu offerings, such as the new burger, which just launched across all 900+ stores chainwide.
