The Pennsauken Free Public Library is proud to be chosen as host of the third annual Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Festival. Sponsored by the Asian American Alliance in South Jersey, the festival, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, celebrates the rich culture heritage of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in South Jersey and the United States.
Families and visitors will enjoy performances by local groups, including Vietnamese dance by students from Cherry Hill East High School, Korean drumming by students from the Korean School of South Jersey, and a Tai Chi demonstration by students from Huaxia Chinese School. There will also be crafting activities, such as henna, jellybeans and chopsticks, and chess, as well as food vendors. Speakers will include New Jersey Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt and representatives from Governor Murphy’s, Donald Norcross’ and Andy Kim’s offices.
The Pennsauken Free Public Library is located at 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., next to the Township’s Municipal Building. For more on upcoming events, visit PennsaukenLibrary.org.
