As part of its Hunger Action Month campaign, the Food Bank of South Jersey invites the local community to enjoy a taste of the best food trucks in the area at Food Truck Friday on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Food Bank of South Jersey is located at 1501 John Tipton Blvd., Pennsauken, NJ 08110.

The event will feature everything from farm fresh cuisine to sugary sweet treats, tours of the Food Bank of South Jersey’s facility, live music by Neighbors Band and more. Participating food trucks include Beast of the Street, Tacos Al Carbon, Jeremiah’s Custom Cuisine, Moocheeze Food Truck and Mr. Water Ice. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of South Jersey.

Food Truck Friday is part of Hunger Action Month, a nationwide initiative to raise awareness about the nearly 40 million Americans facing hunger – including the nearly 200,000 people who are living in food-insecure households in South Jersey.

“Food Truck Friday is an awesome event for community members to enjoy local cuisine and spread awareness about the global issue of hunger that affects our local community,” said Joe Njoroge, Interim President & CEO, Food Bank of South Jersey. “Our hope is that this event encourages citizens to continue to help their food-insecure neighbors.”

Tours of the Food Bank of South Jersey will occur every half hour from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and learn how the Food Bank is able to distribute more than 13 million pounds of food each year to children, veterans, seniors and families in South Jersey.

After eating at the Food Truck Friday event, head over to Double Nickel Brewery for Happy Hour, where 10 percent of all beer sales from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. will be donated to the Food Bank of South Jersey. Double Nickel Brewery, located at 1585 NJ-73, Pennsauken Township, NJ, is also offering a free Double Nickel pint glass to those who present a special voucher. The special voucher can be picked up at the Food Truck Friday event.
