MCR Services, Inc. Achieves Diamond Level In Job Site Safety Program

Merchantville-based MCR Services, Inc. announced it has achieved Diamond Level in Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP Safety Management System, meaning the company is 655 percent safer than the industry average. Founded more than three decades ago, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety program that dramatically improves safety performance among construction industry participants.

“Safety is something that we take very seriously on all of our job sites. The safety of our employees, equipment, and everyone who visits our sites is paramount in our planning and performance,” said George Cholaj, president and CEO of MCR Service, Inc. “We are honored to have our dedication to safety recognized by way of this prestigious award, and gratified to have advanced to the highest level of achievement in this program.”

STEP participants measure their safety processes and policies on key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents. Some of the areas in which MCR Services, Inc. exceled include Pre-Planning for Project Safety, Safety Inspections, Safety Performance Review, and Employee Participation, among other areas.

“Safety is a journey, and that journey is possible because of systems like STEP, which enables ABC member contractors like MCR Services, Inc. to have a safer and more productive jobsite,” said Greg Sizemore, ABC’s vice president of health, safety, environment and workforce development. “Committing to total human health is essential to ensure both the physical and mental health and safety of our workforce, and I commend MCR Services, Inc. for consistently fulfilling those commitments to raising the bar of safety performance.”
