National Night Out In Pennsauken Held On August 3

Pennsauken’s first responders are holding a special event during National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 3, an annual community-building campaign that is designed to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.

Held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, Pennsauken’s police, fire department, and EMS are joining forces to present a variety of displays and activities, specialized unit demonstrations, and more.

“As we continue to get back to normal, it’s more important than ever for first responders to be an active part of the community,” said Acting Chief Phil Olivo of the Pennsauken Police Department. “We hope that Pennsauken comes out for this great event.”

According to the National Night Out website, NATW.org, “Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October). Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.”
