Pennsauken’s Aluminum Shapes Donates Drive Through Test Center to Camden County

Through a partnership with George Norcross of Connor Strong & Buckelew and Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr, Aluminum Shapes LLC, based in Pennsauken, has donated a large drive through testing center for use at Camden County’s highest volume test site at 2600 Mt. Ephraim Ave.

“The generosity and thoughtfulness of this donation from Aluminum Shapes is a textbook example of our corporate citizens stepping up to the plate in the hour of our need,” Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “Solomon and his team at Aluminum Shapes have helped us develop the essential structures for our mobile testing sites which are vital to combating this virus. I want to thank them for their commitment to our community and to their dedication to helping us respond to the pandemic.”

The semi-permanent structure measures 16’x 36’ and replaces the tents formerly used. “Our Drive-Through Shelters were designed to provide a safe, sterile, and secure place for the hard working healthcare workers who need to operate in a dangerous environment every day,” said Solomon Rosenthal, CEO of Aluminum Shapes.

“When we saw the environment those on the front lines were working in, we realized that we could improve on it, especially after seeing reports of tents blowing over, collapsing, and injuring people. Our entire workforce was energized as we re-tooled to produce these shelters. It’s our way of helping the world around us while keeping our employees working. We take tremendous pride in knowing we are helping others and making a real difference,” continued Rosenthal.

Aluminum Shapes is providing a number of drive through test sites and shelters to local governments as well as renting them at a discounted rate to assist in the COVID-19 response nationwide.

The shelters and test sites are designed, fabricated and assembled in Pennsauken. They are built completely out of aluminum, harbor the COVID-19 virus for the least amount of time of any building material, are easily sterilized, and are 100% recyclable.
