PYACT Performs “Mary Poppins Junior” July 27-29
The Pennsauken Youth Action Committee’s performances of “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” will be held on Friday, July 27 through Sunday, July 29 at the Pennsauken Intermediate School, 8125 Park Ave.
Adapted for children ages 7 to 14, “Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, Jr.” is based on the popular Disney-inspired Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations.
Set in 1910 England, audience members are introduced to the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again.
Performances will be at the Pennsauken Intermediate School in the facility’s air-conditioned auditorium/music room. Shows on Friday and Saturday will be held at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday’s matinee performance begins at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for children, $8 for adults and will be available for purchase at the door.
