Roadwork To Cause Partial Closure In Pennsauken And Merchantville

PSE&G Electric will be doing utility work on North Centre Street in Pennsauken and Merchantville from Thursday, Aug. 18 through Sept. 9, excluding Labor Day.

There will be a partial road closure eastbound on North Centre Street between Cove Road and East Walnut Avenue for the duration of the project.

Daily work hours from Monday to Friday will run between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday/Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

“Since crews will be working in the heart of town, motorists should consider taking an alternate route to avoid potential delays around Centre Street,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway and 50 bridges.  They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to serve the residents of Camden County.
