Freeholder Barbara Holcomb has been notified by Merchantville-Pennsauken Water Commission that crews will be paving River Rd. and Union Ave. in Pennsauken beginning on Monday, June 1, and continuing through Friday, June 5. The project is expected to require the complete closure of stretches of River Rd. and Union Ave.
River Road And Union Avenue To Close In Pennsauken For Main Replacement
Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by the Merchantville Pennsauken Water Commission that crews will be replacing a water main on River Road and Union Avenue in Pennsauken beginning Tuesday, Dec. 3. The replacement is expected to require road closures until early spring 2020.
New Jersey Department Of Transportation To Hold Public Information Center About Route 130 Bridge Replacement Project
This Thursday, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will hold a public information center (PIC) to inform local residents, officials, and the business community about the preliminary preferred concept for the Rt. 73 and Ramp G Bridge over 130 Project. Members of the community are encouraged to participate by providing comments at the meeting, by mail, or e-mail.
Repairs To Bridges Over Cooper River Scheduled To Begin Thursday
This week’s heavy rains and wind gusts have delayed the start of structural work on two bridges that pass over the Cooper River. The Freeholder Board’s Department of Public Works anticipates beginning construction on both the Grove St. and Cuthbert Blvd. bridges on July 26. To facilitate the construction, detours will be in place. The exact timing and completion of both projects may be altered by weather and other factors.
Westfield Avenue Milling And Paving Project Finished Ahead Of Schedule

Last month, Camden County began a milling and paving project along a section Westfield Ave. Based on initial estimates, the work running from 42nd St. to Tinsman Ave. was to take several weeks, weather permitting. However, as the concrete under the street was in much better condition than anticipated, the road work was able to be completed at the end of the month.
Milling And Paving Project To Begin On Westfield Avenue
Earlier today, Pennsauken Township announced that Camden County will begin a milling and paving project along a section Westfield Ave. on Wednesday, June 6.
According to the statement, the work will run from 42nd St. to Tinsman Ave. and will take several weeks, weather permitting.
Traffic along this portion of Westfield Ave. will encounter various delays and detours while work is being completed.

PSE&G Project To Impact River Road In Pennsauken
Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by the Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) that crews will begin a service replacement project on River Road (CR543) from Lennox Road and Griffith Morgan Lane in Pennsauken on Monday, April 9.
“Please allow yourself extra time to reach your destination if your route includes this section of River Road in Pennsauken,” Shin Angulo said. “This project will not close the roadway but will utilize alternating traffic patterns which may slow commutes and cause some additional congestion. Motorists should plan for these changes accordingly.”
The project is expected to last for three days. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
PSE&G Gas Main Repairs In Pennsauken On Schedule
PSE&G Begins Gas Main Repairs In Pennsauken
Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) will be making repairs to natural gas facilities in Pennsauken Township, near Airport Circle, where Rt. 70 and Rt. 38 split. Work will begin at on Friday, June 10 at 10:00 p.m., and is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks.
Although the roadway will remain open, it will be necessary to close lanes during construction. Pennsauken Police will be onsite to direct traffic.
“Our crews will work around the clock, seven days a week until the project is completed,” said James Venito, Jr., senior gas distribution supervisor for PSE&G. “We will make every effort to minimize disruption. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important work.”
PSE&G notified adjacent property owners about the work and assures the public that the area is safe and closely monitored.
