Share Your Good Fortune To Help Those In Need
By Mary Anne McFarland
The Scouts of Pennsauken will be collecting non-perishable food items as they walk in the 37th annual Pennsauken Holiday Parade, held along Westfield Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 11:00 a.m. Not only will they be collecting food products for distribution at local food pantries, the Scouts will be collecting food and other items for Almost Home Animal Shelter in Pennsauken. If you have old towels, unused kitty litter, toys, or other such items you no longer need, please bring them to the parade and give to one of the Scouts as they pass by. Your generosity will help the animals waiting for their forever homes at the Almost Home Shelter. The non-perishable food items and canned goods collected will be donated to the food pantry at both Martin Luther Chapel on Rt. 130 and Terrace Ave., where the Cub Scouts hold their den and pack meetings; and St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Merchantville, the Pack’s charter organization.

Troop 118 Lays Wreath On Tomb Of Unknown Soldier
Despite the torrential rain which could normally dampen spirits, the scouts of Troop 118 braved the weather and participated in two wreath laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The rain stopped long enough for them to do the ceremonies. Arlington Cemetery limits the number of participants during wreath layings; the Troop ordered two wreaths, so that eight scouts had an opportunity to participate. The troop also got to watch the changing of the guard, a ceremony that impressed the scouts and leaders alike.
