Pennsauken Township officials and first responders will be joining members of local veterans’ groups for a virtual Memorial Day Ceremony on Sunday May 30, at 11:45 a.m. Held at Pennsauken’s Liberty Park, representatives from Township Committee and members from AMVETS Post 101 and VFW Post 1270 will come together for a socially distant wreath laying ceremony.
“It’s Township Committee’s honor to recognize veterans, particularly those from our community, who laid down their lives in service to their country,” said Pennsauken Mayor Marco DiBattista. “Soon after the wreath laying ceremony, we’ll be sharing photos and video of the event with our residents.”
Event highlights will be shared on the Township’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; on Pennsauken’s website, twp.pennsauken,nj.us; and on Pennsauken Television, Channel 19 on Xfinity and Channel 21 on Fios.
In addition, veterans groups in Pennsauken will be holding their own joint Memorial Day ceremonies. Observances will be held at VFW Post 1270, 2324 Penn St., on Sunday, May 30; and at AMVETS Post 101, 519 June Rd., on Monday, May 31. Both services begin at 11:00 a.m. and all are welcome to attend these outdoor events.
