Fireworks Safety For Independence Day

While fireworks are normally associated with the Fourth of July, there are some people that take their use to the extreme.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, an estimated 11,500 emergency room-treated injuries involving fireworks in 2021. Another sobering fact: 74 percent of the total estimated fireworks-related injuries for the entire year of 2021 occurred between June 18 and July 18.
Revaluation Of Township Properties Underway

By order of the Camden County Board of Taxation and under the approval of the State of New Jersey Division of Taxation, Pennsauken Township will be undergoing a revaluation of properties. The revaluation process, which will be implemented for the 2025 tax year, is designed to update all assessments on Pennsauken properties, so that each owner has an accurate estimate of that property’s value.
Obituary: Robert Blessinger
Robert E. Blessinger, age 57 years of Pennsauken, passed away on June 21, 2023.
Beloved husband of Ann R. (nee Piescor). Devoted father of Seamus, Grace and Breandan Blessinger. Cherished son of Walburga (nee Herron) and the late John Blessinger. Dear brother of the late John Blessinger. Also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Live Music, Fireworks And More At This Weekend’s Summer Kick Off

Music, food, and fireworks will once again be enjoyed by residents at Pennsauken Township’s Summer Kick Off celebration. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 10, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located at Westfield and Bethel avenues.
Senior Citizen Appreciation Day Postponed
Yesterday, Pennsauken Township announced that the Senior Citizen Appreciation Day scheduled for June 8 at the Municipal Pool has been postponed to next week.
“Pennsauken Township Committee and our Parks and Recreation Department have made the decision to postpone Thursday’s Senior Citizen Appreciation Day at the Pennsauken Municipal Pool,” the Township said in an online statement. “The ongoing poor air quality issues from the Canadian wildfires prevent us from safely holding this event.”
The new date for this event is Thursday, June 15, from noon to 4:00 p.m., at the Municipal Pool. Anyone with questions regarding this change can contact seniors@pennsauken.gov or call 856-665-1000 x151 or x152.
New Jersey Primary Election On Tuesday, June 6
The 2023 New Jersey Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, June 6. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
For those voting by mail, ballots were mailed out to eligible residents beginning in April. In addition to using the U.S. Mail, voters can also place their competed ballots in the drop box located in the Township’s municipal complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., by 8:00 p.m. on June 6.
Below is a list of polling locations for the upcoming election. Residents who have voted by mail in the past and wish to cast their votes in person at a polling place must do so via a provisional ballot.

Fun Pool Day Planned For Pennsauken’s Senior Citizens

The second annual Senior Citizen Appreciation Day at the Pennsauken Municipal Pool, 6100 River Rd., will be held on Thursday, June 8, from noon to 4:00 p.m. Sponsored by Pennsauken Township and its Parks and Recreation Department, Pennsauken seniors aged 62 and over will enjoy a variety of free, fun activities, including games and musical entertainment. In addition, Pennsauken’s first responders will be grilling for the event and interacting with attendees, and members of Township Committee will be serving food to guests.
