New Municipal Building And Free Public Library Open This Month

By Frank Sinatra, AAP Editor

Excitement is building in Pennsauken! Not only will Township staff be moving into their offices at the new Municipal Building this month, but the Pennsauken Free Public Library will welcome its patrons to an impressive three-floor facility.

“Our staff are almost ready to make the move into our new building,” said Pennsauken Mayor Nicole Roberts. “In just a matter of days, we’ll be serving our residents in a truly wonderful space.”

“We’re just about ready to welcome back our patrons – all of the familiar faces, as well as those coming to join us for the first time – to an amazing new library space,” said Tanya Finney Estrada, director of the Pennsauken Free Public Library. “We can’t wait to share our innovative spaces designed to support creativity, learning, and community engagement.”

The new Pennsauken Municipal Building and Free Public Library is located at 2400 Merchantville Ave., directly behind the old municipal building at 5605 N. Crescent Blvd. To facilitate the move over to the new building, Township offices will be closed from Friday, Oct. 3, at 3:00 p.m. through end of day, Tuesday, Oct. 7. On Wednesday, Oct. 8, the new municipal offices will open for residents from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These regular operation hours run Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays.

The municipal building’s main phone number will remain the same for residents’ convenience: (856) 665-1000. However, departmental phone extensions will change beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8. The new extensions will be accessible online at Pennsauken.gov. All employee emails will remain the same.

Please note that the Pennsauken Free Public Library will not be opening on Oct. 8. Library patrons will be able to take advantage of the new facility on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Ongoing updates for the transition to the new Library/Municipal Complex can be found at both pensauken.gov and pennsaukenlibrary.org.
