Harvest Festival Celebrates Pennsauken’s Rich Culture

The Pennsauken Township Public Events Committee, in association with the Pennsauken Firefighters Association, will host the fifth annual Pennsauken Harvest Festival, a celebration of heritage, arts and community.

Autism Benefit Held On August 18

An autism benefit for Pennsauken resident Carly Tobia will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., at AMVET Post 101, 519 June Rd., Delair. Tonight’s Mother And Son Dinner Dance Postponed

The Mother and Son Dinner Dance scheduled tonight at Euphoric Fitness and Wellness in Pennsauken has been postponed. There currently is no makeup date for this event.

Rowan Paleontologist Gives Special Presentation At Library

On May 12, Dr. Kenneth Lacovara, renowned paleontologist and founding dean of Rowan University’s School of Earth and Environment and director of the Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park in Sewell, N.J., is giving a special presentation based on his book, “Why Dinosaurs Matter,” at the Pennsauken Free Public Library, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd.

Cramer Hill Nature Preserve Cleanup On May 5

The Stewards of Open Space Camden County are hosting a community cleanup at the CCMUA Cramer Hill Nature Preserve and 36 St. in North Camden, Saturday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at 36th St. and Farragut Ave. Gloves, bags, and pickers will be provided. Senior Spring Fling Held On April 19

Local seniors are invited to attend the annual Senior Spring Fling, held on Wednesday, April 19 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Collingswood Ballroom, 315 White Horse Pike, Collingswood. Sponsored by Senator Jim Beach, Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald, and Assemblywoman Pan Lampitt, the event is free to seniors and features a dessert reception, door prizes and dancing and music all afternoon. Athene Chapter Holds Tom Thumb Wedding

Thumbs up for Tom’s wedding!

In late September, Athene Chapter #201 O.E.S. of New Jersey held a delightful event at the Masonic Temple on Park Ave. in Collins Tract. It was a “wedding,” both big and small at the same time.

It was big, because it was also a generous charity fundraising event; and it was small, because it was a “Tom Thumb” wedding celebration.

“Touch-A-Truck” Event Held On October 29

touch-a-truckThe Pennsauken School District is hosting a free “Touch-A-Truck” event on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Pennsauken Intermediate School and Howard M. Phifer Middle School on Park Ave.

Free to the public, this event offers children of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore various vehicles, including dump trucks, fire engines, police motorcycles, and more. In addition to the many trucks children can explore, there will be snacks offered from area vendors and family entertainment.

Haunted Hay Ride And “Bite Night” Held On October 26

This October, two popular Pennsauken events are combined into one: the Township’s annual Haunted Hay Ride and the “Bite Night” Food Truck Event.
