Chestnut Avenue In Pennsauken To Close Next Week
Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, has been notified by Pennsauken Township that crews will begin replacing a storm sewer on Chestnut Avenue on Monday, July 15. The project will require a stretch of Chestnut Avenue to close throughout the week.
“Road closures often cause irregular traffic patterns, longer commute times, and unexpected delays, making it important for motorists to be aware of how the project may impact their commute in advance,” Shin Angulo said. “Until construction is completed, motorists should try to avoid the area and be extra cautious when near crews at work.”
From Monday, July 15, until Friday, July 19, crews will fully close Chestnut Avenue between Merchantville Avenue and East Hollywood Circle from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Crews will continue the storm sewer replacement the following week, from July 22 to 26, but will not require a road closure. The shoulder of the roadway will be closed during this time.
This project is expected to be completed by the end of work hours on Friday, July 26. Scheduling and project timing is also dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
