Fire Department Helps To Build Stronger Community During National Night Out

Pennsauken’s Fire Department opened their doors to the public on Aug. 2 to celebrate National Night Out. Firefighters demonstrated the equipment they use every day to keep Pennsauken’s residents safe. Younger township residents even got hands-on experience with the equipment, trying on gear, operating hoses, and watching rescue equipment in action. There was also plenty of ice cream and soft pretzels for everyone.

Pennsauken’s Second Annual Harvest Festival Held On October 10

The Pennsauken Township Public Events Committee, in association with the Pennsauken Township Fire Department, will host the second annual Pennsauken Harvest Festival, a celebration of heritage, arts and community. The free event, held on Oct. 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave., will highlight Pennsauken’s diverse cultural identity with a celebration of arts and community.

Leave Fireworks To The Professionals This Summer

As we begin to enjoy the outdoor celebrations that summer affords us, residents may be tempted to include fireworks as part of backdoor barbeques and Fourth of July picnics. As enjoyable as this might seem, “consumer fireworks” are a very real safety hazard.

Burling, Pennsauken Schools Learn About Fire Prevention

October was National Fire Prevention Month, a time to help learn fire safety and prevention. The Pennsauken Fire Department visited the elementary schools taking part in National Fire Prevention Week. The firefighters dressed for the job, showing the students what equipment firefighters use to put out fires and the special clothes that they wear to keep them safe.

The students would like to say thank you to the Pennsauken Fire Department for their support and efforts.
